The Pacific Rim has been my home for the past 15 years.  Originally, I hail from Saskatchewan, and like most prairie folk the mountains were my first calling.  It was there that I realized the mountains may be a bit too rugged terrain for me, so I decided to go to the Beach to learn how to surf.  When I arrived, I found employment at a very respected restaurant establishment. At that time, I didn’t know that I would stick under that Chef for 10 years and hone my skills as well as attain WSET Level 3 wine certification. I thoroughly enjoyed this lifestyle which allowed me to travel and enjoy the west coast.

I gained a great respect for the local communities and their welcoming attitudes during the busy seasons.  My direct involvement in a successful local business enabled me to witness the market fluctuations and the effects they had on locals and other businesses within the community.  I saw the area's resilience and recovery from a tough economic downswing. I came to understand the value of investing in the area in order to keep Tofino and Ucluelet accommodating for both tourism and long standing locals.  

Working in the service industry, I was highlighting the surrounding attractions to visitors in the evenings and listening to their experiences on their daily excursions.  From their impressions of the area, it became quite obvious to me that there is, and always will be, a strong desire for many visitors to come stay and dream of acquiring a spot of their own out here on the west coast.  When the Chef of my long term employment at the restaurant decided to retire I had the opportunity to start something new and decided that Real Estate would be a great way to stay connected to the people and make a living in this small town.

I have been very busy gaining invaluable knowledge through an abundance of experience over the past 5 years.  The busy market and a retiring mentor combined has given me the tools to work with many consumers and complete numerous transactions, all with very positive outcomes.  I have dedicated and prioritized my time to my clients, and it has shown to be very rewarding.  I will continue to put my clients first and will always be learning as every situation is different and requires client-specific attention.

Several years back my partner and I purchased land and built our own home in Ucluelet. Therefore, I am familiar with the intricacies involved with this type of venture such as the planning and building process, zoning, building codes and budgeting. Influenced by my partner who is co-owner of a respected construction company here in town is advantageous in the real estate industry to understand the quality of build that is required to survive our unique climate.  BC housing is continuing to evolve to meet energy efficient demands and the building codes are following suit.  These influences are important to consider in any future property or construction project that buyers are considering.

On a personal note, I am easy to approach and have good communication skills.  I am open-minded and adaptable to different people’s requests.  And I think that my ability to multi-task and work under pressure is a definite strength when working for my clients in any transaction.  I believe in paying great attention to detail while also being productive.  I intend to consistently bring valuable knowledge to the table to support my client’s decisions and assist in their real estate endeavors.

It all comes down to the satisfaction of my clients.
