Prior to working in the Real Estate Business which I have thoroughly enjoyed over the past few years, I managed a very successful restaurant in Ucluelet. Working in the service industry, I was highlighting the surrounding attractions to visitors in the evenings and listening to their experiences on their daily excursions. From travellers' impressions of the area it became quite obvious to me that there is, and always will be, a strong desire for many visitors to come stay and dream of acquiring a spot of their own out here on the west coast.
Over my 15 years of living in the area and working in the tourist industry, I have gained a great respect for the local communities and their welcoming attitudes during the busy summer seasons. My involvement in a successful restaurant business for ten plus years enabled me to witness the market fluctuations and the effects they have on locals and businesses within the communities. I saw the area's resilience and recovery from the economic downswing and susequently the following growth. The locals and the districts understand the value of investing in the area and much work is being done to keep Tofino and Ucluelet successful for both tourism and long standing local communities not only for people to visit and vacation, but also for people to live and call home.
My partner and I purchased land and built our own home in Ucluelet. I am familiar with all the intracacies involved with this type of venture. I will continue to learn and study the planning and building process from zoning to building codes and budgeting. I am heavily influenced by my partner who is co-owner of a respected construction company here in town. It is advantagous in this industry to understand the quality of build that is required in order to survive our unique climate. BC housing is continuing to evolve to meet energy efficient demands and the building codes are following suit. These influences are important to consider in any future property or construction project that buyers are considering.
On a personal note, I am easy to approach and have good communication skills. I am open-minded and adaptable to different people’s requests. And I think that my ability to multi-task and work under pressure is a definite strength when working for my clients in any transaction. I believe in paying great attention to detail while also being productive. I intend to consistently bring valuable knowledge to the table to support my client’s decisions and assist in their real estate endeavors.
